Do These Natural Methods for Weight Loss Work: Hoodia, Apple Cider Vinegar, Artichoke?

in Natural Remedies

More and more people are becoming cautious about what they take to help them lose weight, and this is a good development, for weight loss methods like the HCG diet and taking ephedrine pills are just not good for your health. There are three natural methods for weight loss that are quite popular: hoodia, apple cider vinegar, and artichoke. But do these natural methods work for weight loss?

Hoodia
At first glance, the hoodia gordonii plant doesn’t look like it would be edible, much less be an appetite suppressant so in demand that the plant itself has now nearly been driven to extinction. Hoodia gordonii looks just like any other desert cactus, but it has been used for many decades now by the Kalahari Bushmen in its native Africa, and more recently by the rest of the world, for helping people lose weight.
Hoodia may be one of the most sought after appetite suppressant foods now, but there is very little evidence to show just how it suppresses the appetite. Some reports label the compound that causes the appetite suppressant effect as P57, and while countless small-name producers of hoodia claim to have isolated the P57 chemical effectively, giant health corporations like Unilever report that P57 is incredibly difficult to synthesize and that hoodia may also cause health and liver problems. The debate is still ongoing on whether hoodia truly is safe and effective or not, and to stay safe, only take hoodia products that have been checked and approved by your doctor.

Apple cider vinegar
This simple beverage is commonly used for salad dressings and as an ingredient in soups and marinades. It presents virtually zero calories and fats, no matter how much you take, while still being a good source of minerals and the soluble fiber called pectin. Apple cider vinegar is also said to increase the effects of the vitamin b12 benefits in the body, and while the liquid itself gives little effect on increasing your energy and boosting your metabolism, it can still help you with weight loss if you use it in place of other products like mayonnaise and prepared soup mixes that are high in unnecessary fats and calories.

Artichoke
This vegetable is popularly used in Mediterranean dishes, simply because it’s healthy, tasty, and incredibly filling. A little artichoke can fill your stomach up a long way due to its high fiber content, and munching on it in place of unhealthy fast food and chips can definitely help you lose weight and get healthier. Try adding artichoke to your fresh salads and sprinkling apple cider over them for a delicious and healthy treat you can enjoy every single day.
