Weight loss for idiots, a little bit of a harsh title?

Perhaps so, how about ‘Fat loss 4 idiots‘?  Er. . .No! The dreaded ‘F’ word is sure to upset people. ‘The idiot proof diet‘? Nope, no diet is idiot proof! :-D

If your not the kind who balks at a few basic home truths about diet, stop reading here and go look for McDonald’s.com. Hopefully your one of the few who will be happy with the information given here and take it on board rather than making excuses.

Back to the old gym equipment?

If you feel like you have no time to hit the gym, and working up a sweat to lose that excess weight seem like a dreadful idea, rest assured you are not the only one that feels that way! Unfortunately for most men and women, time is a precious commodity and there really is not enough of it to dedicate to a three times a week workout program. That’s not just bad news for your, its bad news for your health too.

Physical activity such as Exercise has so many proven benefits. It will help to strengthens bones and muscles, improves your mood and mental health, lower your blood pressure, decrease your cholesterol levels and helps to reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and breast cancer to name just a few benefits.

Exercise however is not the biggest factor for losing weight and may not be the magic diet pill you think it is! No, Running around like a maniac or pumping iron on the weight bench are not the only weight loss solutions.

Researchers who compared data on women in Chicago and Nigeria found out that the slimmer Nigerian women were not involved in more physical activity than their Chicago counterparts. The Loyola University Health System researchers found out that while the Chicago diet is high in fat and processed foods the Nigerian diet is high in carbohydrates and fiber.

What does this mean? Not exactly rocket science is it? It’s one of the reasons we called this article ‘weight loss for idiots‘!

Anyway, here’s what it means. It means that it’s time to stop making excuses and get down to healthy eating right now, that is if you want to lose weight of course? A healthy, balanced and nutritional diet with an exercise strategy to help accelerate the process is the best way to shed pounds and avoid obesity, though exercise does not play the biggest role, its good for your health and well being, and it helps tone up your body. So, exercise or don’t but keep in mind that losing weight doesn’t need to be a burden.

Weight loss tips

  • Start the day with your largest meals and make them gradually smaller.
  • Eat 4, 5 or even 6 small meals throughout the day rather than 2 or 3 large meals.
  • Eat plenty of dietary fiber such as fruits, vegetables, legumes and whole grains.
  • Keep a dietary journal of exactly what goes into your body for a few weeks, include calories consumed according to the labels on the food items you have purchased. Not so you can calorie count forever, so you become aware of the biggest letdowns in your diet and cut down or remove the offenders.
  • Feeling hungry? Drink water instead! If you are still feeling hunger after 30 minutes then you really are hungry. Not feeling hungry, drink water anyway, allow yourself to become dehydrated and you may mistake the thirst for hunger and start eating cheeseburgers.
  • Challenge a friend to take up the same habits, a bit of healthy competition will help and when you feel like giving up a friendly nudge in the right direction from your ‘fat loss 4 idiots‘ counterpart will help to keep you on track.

And our No1 weight loss for idiots tip:

  • Work out! get that gym equipment out of the cellar or visit your local gym and use their equipment. You will accelerate the whole process, get your body to where you want it to be faster.
